Naturally can be a little bit shy in a new environment in a new home, but build trust quickly.

Steffie is currently at Chobham, Surrey, GU24. Steffie needs rehoming due to unfortunate family circumstances and no fault of her own.

Steffie needs to be with an older calm dog to help her confidence and with a secure garden to play in.

In pictures looks bigger, but in reality, she is just 33 cm in height, has a long body, and weighs around 10 kilos.

Steffie loves to cuddle near humans, loves to play, fine to be left alone for short periods (but as with every other dog, needs some time, ideally a week, to get used to a new home before will be left alone), housetrained, lead trained, doesn’t pull on the walks, not barky.

Steffie is a clever, bright young dog, who is keen to please. She is quick to learn new routines when she feels safe. Her early life is unknown but she was rescued from the streets as a young adult.

Her street-wise ways, which helped her to survive, explain her urge to escape when overwhelmed on walks, her alarm barking at some visitors to the home and her sudden fear of being contained (being called into the house). These happen when something triggers scary memories and emotions in her survival system.

Over time and with patience, these will lessen. She feels comfortable in the presence of other dogs on walks so would benefit from being a second dog, taking her lead from her housemate.

An active couple or family with older children would provide her with plenty of outlets for her boundless energy. Steffie is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.
