Sziki is a 1 year 8 month old, larger medium size neutered male cross breed (shoulder height: 62 cm, weight: 28 kg). He was found dumped in a forest in rural Hungary with his mum and 8 siblings when they were about 2 months old. All his siblings have now found their forever homes and it’s only Sziki looking for a loving family to get a chance for a better life.
Sziki has a lovely gentle character, he is a sweet and friendly doggie who is quite quiet and does not bark a lot. He can be a bit shy and aloof when meeting new people and needs some time to bond, but once you’ve earned his trust he is the most lovely and cuddly boy. His beautiful scruffy face is hard to resist and we don’t understand why he’s had to spend all this time in a shelter when he could be a lovely family pet!
He is good with dogs, peaceful and sociable, never shown aggression. He currently lives peacefully with a pack of dogs in the shelter. He loves water and beach walks would definitely be his favourite! He has been tested with cats too and lives around them in the shelter.
Sziki currently lives in an outdoor kennel with other dogs, therefore his new family will need to be prepared to toilet train him if needed. He is not taken on regular walks, therefore training him to walk nicely on and off the lead is down to his future family.
Sziki would be best suited for a family without children where he is not left alone for long periods of time and there is time for his training. He would like to be part of family life and go on nice walks and holidays with his humans to help create a strong bond. He will need to be given time to settle in his new environment as he does not know the world outside the shelter.
He could probably live with a friendly, calm and confident dog, but he would be equally happy living with his humans to care for him only. Experience with rescue dogs strongly preferred. No first time owners please.
As all rescue dogs, he will need love, patience, time and commitment from his adopting family.
Sziki is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for him. He comes fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork.
Adoption is subject to home check and adoption fee.
