Hi everyone! My name is Tia and I am a 9 year old Miniature Poodle. Up until recently I have been an exceptionally well cared for family member and I had an amazing mum who adored me. Sadly my mum has dementia and is no longer able to care for herself or me and so I’m looking for a new family. I need to live with another dog of a similar size who is not overly playful as I do love to sleep but who will have the odd playtime with me! I am older girl now so I would like an adult home but visiting children would be fine as long as they understand I’m a mature lady now! I have not been cat tested. I am house trained and extremely easy to love and look after! I am currently in a foster in Medway with a lovely spaniel. Here’s what my foster mum says about me.
Tia is a very sweet little girl aged 9. When she first arrived with us she was quite shy, and just chose a chair to call her own and slept most of the day. She is clean and dry indoors, and is happy to use the dog flap when going outside to do her business. Now she has settled with us, she will come over for fusses and curl up next to us. Tia has sudden bursts of energy where she and our dog chase each other round the house and garden but she soon goes off for a sleep.
We have only let her off lead in an enclosed field, where she had a good run at full speed, but she came back when called. She seems slightly stressed in the car as she whimpers the whole journey. However we have only taken her on fairly short journeys so we don’t know if she will settle down on a longer journey. She eats well and doesn’t seem to mind what she has!
When I went away for the weekend and left her in the care of my husband, she howled a little but then settled nicely overnight, and was fine for the rest of my absence. She is friendly with other dogs and we love having her stay with us!
I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
