Tilly is an 8 year old female Shar-Pei. She came into our care because her owners found that changes in family circumstances meant they no longer had the time to care for her as she needed. She is finding it hard to adjust to life in our care and Tilly is becoming very depressed in kennels, so the sooner we can find her forever home the better it will be for Tilly.
Previously, Tilly has been used to having the run of the house and generally liked to sleep on the landing (preferably on a pile of clothes if they were available!) and has shown her intelligence in a variety of ways. She has been given off-lead exercise and has reasonably good recall, but it has been some time now and she may need a little reminding with some re-training. Tilly can be strong on the lead, especially when she is excited and this may need some work, too.
In her previous home, Tilly lived with children and will be able to live with children of primary school age, or older and she also shared the home with two cats and would probably be able to live with cats given the proper introductions. Whilst she has been with us she has shown a little, if slightly nervous interest in other dogs and she may be able to live with an established, stable dog given the right, careful introductions.
