Hi everyone, my name’s Tizzy! I am 6 year old female Terrier. I arrived at the centre after being found as a stray so nothing is known about my background but my friends think I’m around 6 years of age. I’m looking for new owners who have experience with Terrier types and lots of patience!

Unfortunately I can’t tell anyone what has happened to me in my past but my friends understand that whatever I’ve been through has made me fearful of new people and I sadly lack confidence in being handled by anyone I don’t know. I get very scared if people rush at me or put their hands towards me, for this reason my friends here have taught me how to wear a muzzle so that all introductions to anyone new to me can be done safely.

My new owners will need to be commited to doing a large amount of visits at the centre in order to get to know me, it takes me quite some time to come around to new people and feel relaxed enough that I don’t have to wear my muzzle. Once I trust someone and feel comfortable, you’ll see a completely different side to me, my friends say that beneath all my nerves is a fun, happy little girl with a lot of love to give someone.

I do need quite a specific home, somewhere quiet with no children or visiting children and minimal visitors – I’m a very busy, independent little lady – so a home with plenty of space would be great for me and owners with an active lifestyle would be amazing as I love being out and about, walks are my favourite!

My friends think it’s possible that I have not lived in a home environment before so it may take me a little bit of time to settle and get used to my new surroundings and I will more than likely need to be housetrained, but given the time and patience they think I’ll make a very special companion for my new humans.

Unfortunately I don’t get on with other dogs, I prefer to be left in peace and get upset if other dogs get in my personal space so I am looking for a home where I will be the only pet and where my new owners have the ability to take me to quieter walking spots.
