(Rehomed) Tom – 10 year old male Lurcher Cross

Tom is a 10 year old male Lurcher Cross. He originally came into our care in June 2021 after he was signed over to a veterinary practice after his owner could no longer care for him anymore. He was adopted in July 2021 but has now found himself looking for another home as his owner is struggling to manager him on walks following a decline in health.

He is a placid, sweet natured dog who is loving and affectionate. He is perfect in the home and enjoys snoozing on the sofa. He will be staying with his current owner whilst we match him to a new family and therefore he is not at the rescue. Tom can prove challenging on walks as he is reactive towards other dogs. Its extremely important that his new owner is confident and capable of managing him.

He has mixed well with some dogs in the past and does have potential to improve with ongoing training and socialisation. He is in good health with no ongoing medical issues.Tom will need a home with someone around for most of the day as he can become upset when left alone and will howl, although he has proven to be clean and non-destructive.

Due to Tom’s reactivity towards other dogs we are looking for a confidence and experienced owner, where any children are aged 16+ and a quiet environment would suit him best. He has lived with a cat in the past, however we are unsure if he will accept a cat in his new home. He cannot live with other dogs.
