Please meet Talkative Twinkie! Twinkle is a 2 year old female Cane Corso. He came to us from the pound where she was left unwanted and was due to be put to sleep, she was in an utterly appalling condition, skin and bone and covered in bite wounds, she also needed to have multiple eye surgeries! Physically, we have fixed her up all we can, mentally however, she has a way to go, she takes time to trust and then when she bonds, she absolutely loves you to the point she wants to be with you all the time.
Twinkie absolutely loves her life as part of her pack, she loves to run and play with the other dogs, and she loves her humans that she knows. She is very much like a new puppy now, in that everything is new and exciting so although she is 2 years old, she has a lot to learn as she doesn’t appear to have had any input in her life so far. She has been used for breeding so it’s possible she has never had a pet home and has always lived outside, which explains why she absolutely clings to her person once she trusts them.
We believe Twinkie is a Cane Corso, but we have no real way of knowing for sure, whatever her breeding, she is absolutely gorgeous, and has had a horrific life so far, we know she is 2 years old, I can only imagine what kind of life this poor little lady has had to date.
Twinkie is the most wonderful dog I have ever had the pleasure to meet and foster! She is always on your lap wanting cuddles and attention and is always wanting to please. So adorable that she managed to wheedle her way onto my bed on her first night with me! She is fantastic on and off the lead and brilliant with other dogs. She also isn’t interested in the cats.
Twinkie is clean in the house, although if she is worried, she will have the odd accident. She is non-destructive and loves playing with a ball. She can be left perfectly for short periods. She travels well in the car and she has the most beautiful little face! She isn’t a huge girl she weighs approx. 35kg.
Twinkie will need a calm patient home that will allow her to settle in, she will need someone to be home with her a lot in the early days until she feels confident enough to be left alone.
If she knows you are out she quietens down and settles, however if you are in another room and she can’t get to you, she will panic and bark until she can see you, this is something that will take time and trust to build with her.
Anyone who adopts her is going to be very lucky to have her as part of their family! She is absolutely adorable, with a kind, loving heart.
Can you offer this softy a place in your heart and on your sofa? She would make a perfect family pet and can live with children no problem, as long as they are used to big clumsy dogs! Twinkie is spayed and microchipped.
