Ty is a 1 year old Chihuahua cross Jack Russell Terrier who came into the rescue as an unclaimed stray and despite all efforts to find his owner, nobody came forward. He is a cheeky chap who loves to play, he is really intelligent and likes to be involved in whatever you are doing!
Ty is great on and off the lead, travels well in the car, is good to be left with another dog for up to 4 hours and is clean in the house except that for some reason he likes to wee up carrier bags, so if you leave any of them on the floor he will pee in them.
This little man is good with cats and fine with horses, cows, sheep and donkeys; he will join in if they’re running about as it is a fun game to chase, but he is easily distracted with a squeaky toy and with training this could be completely resolved – he genuinely thinks they’re playing as he seems surprised that they don’t want to chase him back!
Ty is generally good with other dogs, however, he can be reactive with energetic dogs when he first meets them (most likely down to lack of socialisation as a youngster). His reaction is all mouth and with more socialisation with different types of dogs it is massively improving: he was happily out at a barbecue with 9 other dogs with us and after a couple of brief shouting matches all settled and it was play time.
Ty would be suited to an active home with another dog that also enjoys playing but not one that is in his face all the time. Ty is fine with children 5+, Ty is ball mad so would likely be suitable for activities such as flyball.
Ty is fully vaccinated, micro chipped, neutered, up to date with all flea treatment and wormer and comes with 5-weeks free insurance
