Whisky – 18 month old male German Shepherd Dog

Whisky is an 18 month old neutered male white German Shepherd Dog. He came to us at a year old having lived in the upstairs of a pub and only being allowed out in a small courtyard. He hadn’t been on a lead or socialised with other dogs.

[rehomed]

After a lot of work he has turned into a lovely dog, he walks well on a lead and is getting used to meeting other dogs (see video). He can still be a little vocal when seeing other dogs but we have taught him to sit and distract him with treats which works well. Due to his size it’s probably best that he lives with older children only so he doesn’t knock them over. He can be quite shy when meeting new people but soon comes around especially if you have treats. Once he knows you he loves nothing more than a fuss.

Whisky needs a owner that loves to walk as he loves being out and about and also someone that can continue his training with him. Previous experience of large breed dogs would be a big plus. At present we think he would be best as an only dog and no cats.
