Wolfie – 4-5 year old female Saluki cross Whippet

Beautiful Wolfie is a 4-5 year old Saluki cross Whippet type girl who has joined us recently at Greyhound Gap. Sadly Wolfie was in quite a bad situation and when she landed with us she was quite nervous and shut down yet already she has opened up and bonded with us all and I feel will turn into quite the little confident minx. Wolfie is sweet and so pretty there isn’t a lot else we can say. We feel she would be best placed in a home with a calmer male dog as she was said not to like the female dog she was living with before although that could have been environmental but for safety’s sake we will not home her with another female. If someone was around all or most of the time especially in the beginning we also feel this girl could probably adapt to being an only dog.

Wolfie is a dream to walk on lead, she travels well, seems to have been okay with all dogs she has met at the kennels and although she has never received house training in the past she has lived in a home and we don’t feel it would take her long to master it. Wolfie is not good with cats and we would prefer she was rehomed with dog sensible children 8 years and upwards as she has been through a lot and still has a lot to learn.

Wolfie is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and will be spayed and receive a dental before rehoming. Wolfie is currently in Stoke on Trent but can be rehomed nationally subject to a successful homevisit and all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs travelling to meet with her.

Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
