Wolfie and Otta are 11 and 6 year old female Miniature Schnauzers. They are fostered in Gloucestershire. Wolfie (the bigger one) and Otta have recently come into our care through no fault of their own due to a personal reason. They have been with their family since young. These two girls have been well loved and have no behaviour issues. They are extremely bonded – Otta the small one relies on Wolfie very much she is not as a confident as Wolfie.
They are friendly happy little girls once they know you and very easy to live with. They do everything together and obviously have a strong bond. They travel well, good off and on the lead, have had a few accidents indoors the first few days but this is to be expected due to the changes. They are living with other dogs and are fine with them there has been no growling the only thing I would say is that Otta is not so confident around them and gets a bit worried but is slowly getting used to them all.
Both girls have seen our Vets recently and started their vaccinations, both are booked in next week, Otta to be spayed and Wolfie to have a dental due to having many rotten and lose teeth. Their coat badly needed a groom which has now been done also. Will add both behaved perfectly at the Vets and the Groomers. They sleep in their bed together at night with no issues.
There has been such a lot of interest in these girls in fact we were flooded when we first put up that they had come into our care, which was too much for us to deal with as a small rescue especially as there was limited information about them before we got to know them so we were at that stage unable to match them up correctly.
Because of this we are going to specific on their homing requirements so people will know if they are a good match or not. The world has gone mad at the moment and there seems to be so many people after rescue dogs some of which is governed by the high prices the breeders are charging and not because people believe in the concept of rescue. Because of this we will only be homing to people who have rescued before.
Also, the girls although good with other dogs have been used to just the two of them – Otta gets worried by the other dogs at times so would be nice for them to be the only dogs in the house, bearing in mind also because it’s difficult at the moment for people to find the right rescue dogs there is lots of people breaking their hearts with no dogs in their homes so this works both ways for both dogs and humans.
They have been used to living with teenagers so again children over 15 only – or adult home – no full time workers and only people whose circumstances have remained the same since Covid – we do not want them becoming victims like so many will when life goes back to normal.
People must also understand about grooming breeds – every 6 – 8 weeks this is not cheap so something people need to look into. Both girls are not cat or small fury friendly
This rehoming is all about the girls and their needs and we know people will be upset but there is only two of them unfortunately and they are very precious and we are their voice.
Both girls will be spayed, vaccinated, flea/wormed, Wolfie would have had a dental too, we will also arrange for the chip transfer.
