Zuzu – 5 year old female Cross-Breed

Zuzu is a small 5 year old female Cross-Breed. She came into our care a few weeks ago from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. She had been in the shelter for most of her five years and as such had become accustomed to never having contact with humans. She arrived very scared and reluctant to trust people. However, after a lot of patience and tlc from her foster family she is now really beginning to grow in confidence and accept human affection.

Zuzu fosterer says : Zuzu has been with us for several weeks now and is a pleasure to foster. She now adores my 14 year old daughter so maybe fine to live with dog savvy children but still doesn’t like loud noises . She still likes her own space but will come and join in the family atmosphere in the evenings . She has now found her voice and will bark if someone comes in the front door.

Zuzu is very alert and getting more affectionate but still very much on her terms . She still needs to be with another dog as she very much takes note of what my 2 are up to and learns and grows in confidence by being around them.

Zuzu is food oriented as now really loves her walks, she’s now getting into the car with no problem. Such a beautiful natured little girl I really dont know why no one has come forward for her in all this time. Zuzu fostered Ipswich Suffolk.

Please note it is Safe Rescue policy that all dogs adopted from us must wear a slip lead to be walked for the duration of their lives. Too many dogs are lost from slipping out of collars and harnesses and many of our dogs are timid due to past ill treatment and are likely to panic when out and about. It is absolutely okay to use these things additionally to slip leads, but not instead of.

We also request that extendable retractable leads are never used on our dogs. If you are opposed to slip leads, please do not enquire about our dogs as this is non negotiable. Thank you for understanding. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
