Basil was sadly found in a bad way with a very uncertain future in a kill shelter in Romania. Thankfully he was saved and placed into a foster home to await his second chance.

Basil is a mixed breed but seems to have some terrier type about him. He is classed as medium in size but is definitely on the larger side of this.
Unlike many of our dogs who are unaware of their names, Basil is quite fond of his!
His foster established he liked when she made a ‘bzz bzz’ noise and so gave him a fitting name that he would enjoy hearing every day.

Basil was a very unsure character when he first arrived in foster and did not always accept the other dogs, being very wary and unpredictable with them.
This was thought to be because of his past living on the streets and having to fight for his meals or face starvation.
However, since being in foster he has simply transformed and is now able to show his true personality.

Basil is a very happy boy, he loves attention from people and seeks out a head scratch whenever he can.
Basil has also been around the rescuer’s young son and is equally as happy and comfortable with him.
Basil also now happily lives with many other dogs and shows no issues at all, even receiving treats with others around. For this reason, we think he could equally be rehomed with or without a resident dog.

In the beginning, we would advise feeding separately as a precaution just to ensure there are no setbacks in this behaviour.
We have some lovely videos showing Basil interacting with children and other dogs, so please do get in touch if interested in seeing these.
Basil is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and fully health checked by a vet. He is currently in Romania but is now more than ready to join his new forever family.
