Poor Cherry the 15 week old Saluki cross Lurcher, was abandoned when she was just a few weeks old, found starving, alone and in agony with a shattered leg we can only begin to imagine the pain and fear this little girl went through in the first weeks of her life and how she came to suffer such a terrible injury. Friends of the Animals RCT took care of Cherry and made sure she had the love and veterinary care she needed to begin to heal. The wonderful vets at Maesglas put Cherry’s little leg back together with pins and gave her all the support she needed to begin to get better. When Cherry grew strong enough she moved to her foster home with one of our very experienced foster families. Six weeks on and Cherry is happy and healthy and looking for her perfect forever home.

Cherry is an absolute bundle of fun, forever wagging, bounding around and playing she is looking for an active, busy home where she will always be loved. Cherry would love to live with another playful dog to have fun with, as well as playing with them she loves to follow and learn from them. Cherry loves children, she is surprisingly gentle with her play although still bouncy she just adores the fuss. Cherry hasn’t had much experience of cats but as she is so young we feel that with careful introductions she would happily live with them.

Cherry is a typical puppy going through all of the usual puppy phases, she is learning to toilet outside and that she should only chew her toys and learning her basic commands. It is an on-going process and Cherry’s adopter will need to continue to help her to learn her basic skills. It is a condition of adoption that Cherry is taken to puppy training classes following her adoption. Cherry is happy to be left at home for a few hours, she walks well on the lead and sleeps quietly through the night in her crate.

Cherry is vaccinated and microchipped. As with all puppies homed through Friends of the Animals RCT it is a requirement of adoption that all puppies will be neutered at 6 months at your expense. A voucher will be given at the time of adoption for a refund of £50 when she is neutered and we will follow up with you to ensure this has been done.
Potential adopters are expected to travel to meet Cherry in her foster home in South Wales.
