Chip arrived from the stray system in January and went into Foster with a family where he has shown to be a wonderfully sweet dog with bags of potential.
Chip loves children and has been around children from upward and loves nothing more than going on the school run for extra fuss and cuddles/strokes.
Chip is great on the lead only pulling when he wants to have a sniff or say hello to someone. Chip is ok to be left for up to 3.5 hours without issue and is usually found snoring away somewhere nice and warm. Chip loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa.
Chip will play when prompted but does prefer a snuggle overplay. He will greet visitors with anything he can find, from a toy or his lead to a shoe. He already knows to sit, paw, wait, and bed and is working on leaving it currently.
When preparing his food he will sit on his bed and only move when given the break command – although he will leave you a puddle of dribble if you take too long! He picks up his training very quickly and I’m amazed at his eagerness to learn.
Chip does have some food allergies which we have got to the bottom of and being on a raw diet is improving this but he does tend to scratch and chew at his feet. His ears still need cleaning daily but the vet thinks this is linked to his allergies.
Chip has only been off lead in a secure field but he never wanders far and if he gets distracted by sniffing he runs to catch you up with his dumbo ears flapping. He is an amazing boy with such a sweet nature despite his size.
Chip is brilliant with dogs and has met plenty when out on walks, but there was one incident where a puppy came up but started to bark at Chip who unfortunately reacted to this, but with further training and socialisation this will be overcome.
Chip is quick to learn and keen to please his handler – this dog will make someone a wonderful addition to any family with large breed/bully experience.
