Conor – 4 1/2 month old male German Shepherd cross Labrador

Hello, my name is Conor, I am a 4 1/2 month old male, German shepherd and Labrador cross puppy. I arrived at The Mayhew because my breeder decided he could no longer look after me. I am now starting to learning lots of good things, I’m starting to get the hang of toilet training because I’m taken out to the garden every couple of hours and given lots of praise when I do my business out there. My carers say I am a little bundle of energy but I do calm down once I’ve had a good run around the garden.

I’ve had my vaccinations and I’ve also been microchipped and neutered. Like any puppy I’m full of mischief and can be mouthy at first but as everyone here gives a loud yelp when I mouth and nip, I’m learning to just give puppy licks and kisses. I still have plenty of things to learn so I will need plenty of time and dedication from my new guardians to teach me all the basics and perfect my doggy manners.

I am looking for a new home with someone who will make sure I get two gentle, thirty minute, off lead socialisation outings per day whilst I’m still young, building up to a minimum of one to two hours of off lead exercise daily once I’m fully grown. My new guardians will have independently owned dogs as an adult before. They will be at home all day and will enroll me in training classes. I can live with another grown up dog providing they have been well trained, are calm and will be a good role model for me.

Due to my very young age and training needs any children in my new home will need to be at least seven years of age and upwards, and I will need to live in either a house or ground floor flat with a garden. My new guardians will be taking on a fifteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly. My carers are very proud of me and say I in a committed home I will make a great family dog.

I hope to see you soon, Conor.
