Dixie is excellent with visitors to the home and enjoys attention from people.
Dixie accepts a collar, harness, and lead without issue. She generally walks well on the lead but has once lunged at a passing cyclist.
Occasionally, she pauses or plants her feet when changing direction or walking from tarmac to grass, but with gentle encouragement she continues without problem. Due to a historical leg injury and a slight limp, Dixie benefits from being allowed to walk at her own pace.
Dixie is generally very good on walks and calm around people, dogs, and everyday stimuli. She is reactive to cats and should not be walked in areas with free-roaming cats where possible.
Dixie has passed children on walks without issue and has shown no signs of aggression or fear. She has not lived with young children, but would likely be comfortable in a home with calm, respectful children.
Dixie currently lives harmoniously with two other resident dogs and has been friendly and accepting from the outset. She does not require another dog in the home but could happily live alongside another calm, compatible dog.
Dixie is not suitable to live with cats. She has shown aggression towards the resident cat in her foster home, resulting in the cat becoming too afraid to come downstairs.
Dixie is toilet trained, though she occasionally uses puppy pads overnight.

She is not crate trained but has shown no destructive behaviour in the home.
Dixie can be left alone for short periods, up to two to three hours, and remains calm, typically sleeping quietly on her bed.
She is settled and quiet overnight, sleeping soundly through the night after a late evening walk.
Dixie is a gentle, quiet, and affectionate dog who enjoys attention, food, and short walks. She would be best suited to a calm home, perhaps with an older couple or family seeking a low-energy companion.
Due to her leg injury, she benefits from shorter, regular walks. Dixie could live alone or with another compatible dog, but absolutely no cats.
A loving, well-mannered girl who enjoys companionship and relaxation, Dixie would thrive in a peaceful home where she can enjoy comfort, affection, and stability.
