Dizzie – 7 year old female Springer cross Spaniel

Dizzie is a 7 year old female Springer cross Spaniel. She has come into foster having had a traumatic past in her family home. Dizzie was so traumatised when she arrived here, it took me days to win her trust. She now adores me and knows that I am here for her with kindness and that I am not going to harm her.

I have every reason to believe that after an initial worry she will blossom in her new home. Dizzie is very scared of men and needs a female only home. This is very important. She cannot trust men – they scare her and are a huge threat to her. She will act in defence, lunging and showing her teeth. This is pure fear. It is also best that no children visit as she may find them too much. With us here, she is happiest when out on walks off the lead.

She is very strong on the lead but her recall is good and she just adores running, sniffing, paddling and exploring. She will definitely need a rural home. Maybe no close neighbours as she does bark initially when being left. A quiet household would be good for her.

Dizzie is great with other dogs she has met on walks, and gets on with my spaniels but they do not want to play which she finds a bit difficult. She would be best as an only dog in the home. A game of ball in the garden is something she loved. She will drop the ball on command. She also does sit and lie down and will cheekily roll over for a belly-rub when doing so.

She is fine being towel-dried and loves a body rub. She is a little anxious in the car but not vocal. Dizzie really deserves a kind, loving, female only home. She is just learning now, after 7 years, how lovely it is to be a proper spaniel. She is very deserving and in return you will be rewarded with love.
