Granny is a 9-10 year old female Labrador Cross. She is an easygoing older pooch who’s looking for a relaxed retirement home. She was found on the streets of Mauritius with terrible skin problems and a large mammary tumour, both of which have now been treated.

She’s estimated to be around 9-10 years of age and we think she’s probably got some Labrador in her mix. She’s a sweet character who would be happy joining a family with a slow paced way of life and a lot of love to give.

Granny really loves the company of people, and although she’s good with all dogs she really enjoys being around puppies. It’s highly likely that in her lifetime she’s welcomed many litters of pups into the world, and based on her behaviour with the shelter pups it looks as though she was an amazing mother.

Granny doesn’t ask for much and is a very laidback dog. She loves being in human company and would be happy snoozing by your feet whilst you watch television or write emails, and then going out for a gentle stroll around the local area. She’s learnt to walk with a harness and lead so who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?!

Granny would be happiest in a semi-rural home with few comings and goings, no young children and a garden for her to have a wander about in. Once she’s satisfied with a little walk she’s happy to just stick by your side for attention (or food) and remain in your presence, keeping you company.
That said, she can also be left alone from time to time and usually will just sleep, although as with any dog we do suggest time spent alone is something you build up over time.
If you’re keen to offer Granny the laidback lifestyle she’s looking for in her later years please reach out – she’d love to meet you
