Jelly – 1-2 year old male Labrador Cross

Jelly bean is a small to medium (no more than 10kg) Black Labrador cross aged 1-2 years old fostered in Lymington, Hampshire. A lot of you may recognize Jelly bean as he was rescued on the Safe Rescue trip to Romania at the end of April this year.

[rehomed]

We were travelling from Bucharest to Craiova for the day and just stopped for fuel and snacks at a station. Like many fuel stations in Romania there were dogs hanging around outside. Jelly bean came running up to us all tail wags and happy. He was there with two other dogs (Fluel and Sarnie).

We bought them sandwiches so they at least had something to eat. Claudia spoke to the people inside the station and found out they do feed them but are not allowed and could be fined, so we agreed we would go back the next day and rescue them. And now less than two months later jelly bean is here in the UK in a foster home.

This little dog is always so happy and affectionate. He is on standby to give you kisses 24 hours a day. He just wants to be with you all the time, so would suit someone who is able to be at home a lot or be able to take him when they go out. Having said that, when he has been left at home he has been fine. He is in foster with 6 other dogs and has been great with them. He has been living with a cat and shown no interest.

As jelly bean is still a young dog and can be excitable and needs basic training. I think it would be best he was homed with children aged 8 years and older, excitable and needs basic training.

To date we have helped dogs from Spain, Cyprus and Turkey but the majority of our work takes place in Romania where we have built up strong relationships with many dedicated rescuers before bringing the dogs to the UK and into foster care for rehoming.
