Meet Jess, she is a female Greyhound cross Collie (broken coated) aged around 2 1/2 years old. She is currently still with her owners but we are trying to work on bringing her into our care. However, knowing both the adopter and the dog it may be possible to home her directly from home.

Jess has found herself looking for a new home through no fault of her own or that of her current owners. Due to Landlord problems her current owner has to rehome two of her current three dogs.

Jess originally went to her current home via a stray pound situation as a young pup. Her behaviour was a bit testing to say the least BUT with alot of hard work she has now turned into a lovely dog.

Jess is great with all other dogs but can be a little scared, wary and snappy with collies has fabulous recall and is fine with older dog sensible children 10 plus. Caution does have to be taken when Jess is off leash though because if able to she can catch a mean rabbit although she has of course never been encouraged. Jess is NOT cat friendly.

Jess is housetrained and fine to be left for periods of time with other dogs as company. It is not yet known how Jess would be as an only dog however we feel she would be better suited to having at least one other companion dog. Jess is already vaccinated, de-flead, wormed, spayed and microchipped.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
