Joley is a 6 month old female Ibizan Hound (Podenco) Cross. Joley is a friendly fun loving puppy with a beautiful lush thick tan and white coat. She delights in being with people, enjoys her walks and loves to play with other dogs, she is an absolute pleasure to be around. Joley isnt a very big dog – she stands at 35 cm and weighs just 8 kg. Joley currently lives with a foster carer and seven other dogs. The atmosphere in the foster home is fun and harmonious and Joley slotted in perfectly. She likes other dogs to play with and socialises well. She is initially wary of strangers but this is quickly overcome. Joley is a little dog with a big character, she is lively, friendly and just commands attention in a very positive way. A delightful, lively personality and excellent companion.

Joley arrived one day in al village in Portugal. She was extremely wary of people and would run away if approached. She did however enjoy the company of other dogs and would happily trail behind them. Eventually she summoned up the courage to enter her Rescuers garden and then the house, all the time wary and frightened when approached. Joley was taken into Foster, where she is currently living. The breakthrough happened within days and Jessie began to take treats from her fosterer’s hand, this gradually built up to cuddles and endless love and affection towards not only her fosterer’s but also other visitors to the house. Of course, Joley exhibits initial hesitation, and caution towards strangers , but this is quickly overcome. We don’t know where Joley came from, but her behaviour suggests that she was kept with other dogs with little if any human contact.
Joley still needs to build her confidence. She is wary of strangers and new people .We have seen Joley develop in a relatively short period of time in to an affectionate well adjusted little dog.
House training is progressing well, a few little accidents overnight, that can be managed. The Fosterer reports that she is generally clean in the house. Very interactive with both humans and other dogs.

Joley is a fun dog, interactive and good to be around. She knows her name and responds well to treats. She is food motivated. With further training she will develop in to a ‘cracking’ little dog. The fosterer believes that Joley would make an excellent ‘agility’ dog with further training. She is fast and can jump. The Fosterer was keen to stress that Jolie jumps for fun and not to escape. For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK. We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
