Currently in a Cyprus shelter, Lucy was dumped in the mountains by a cruel hunter — abandoned and left for dead. This gutsy girl made her way down to safety and was rescued in the village of Lefkara.

Drained, exhausted, and starving, Lucy put up little resistance. She was more than ready to be saved.

Once back at the shelter, after a good meal and some rest, Lucy began to show her gratitude with sweet kisses for her rescuer. Although shy at first — no surprise for a dog who’s known neglect — it quickly became clear how affectionate and loving she truly is.

Since arriving at the shelter, Lucy has slowly come out of her shell. She’s shown herself to be super playful and sociable with other dogs. She welcomes newcomers and thrives in canine company.

Naturally reserved at times, she still craves affection like she’s soaking up all the love she missed out on for so long.

Lucy has a gentle, friendly nature that’s impossible not to fall for. We think she’d really enjoy having another playful dog in her new home — especially a larger one, as she seems to gravitate toward them. She gets along with both males and females.

She has medium energy and would love an active home that offers long, interesting walks. She’s had limited leash experience but shows great enthusiasm for exploring, true to her Pointer instincts.

Due to her nervousness, we wouldn’t recommend Lucy for homes with cats or young children. However, she’d do well with older children aged 10 and up who can give her the patience and gentleness she deserves.

Dogs like Lucy have known fear, abandonment, and neglect — yet she remains one of the gentlest little souls. She deserves a future that makes up for the past.

This is Lucy’s moment. Her new beginning. Could you be the one to give her the life she’s been waiting for?
