He would like to find a home with someone who has owned dogs before and are fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog. As it is not yet known how long he can be left alone for he’s currently looking for a home where there is someone around for most of the day. He does need to undergo further training and need a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise everyday in a park or open space.
*Update September 2010*
Hello, my name is Marius
I am a one year old male, Border Collie and Staffordshire Bull Terrier type Crossbreed. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London.
I am a very lively and happy dog with a sweet nature. I adore people and I’m friendly with everyone I meet. I’m toilet trained and I know the basic commands. Now I just need to learn manners like how to walk nicely on my lead and not to jump up on people when saying hello. I’m an intelligent boy so this shouldn’t take too long, I really enjoy my training and I try very hard because I want to please. I get along well with children and I love to play with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. I also love playing football and playing with my toys. I would make a great family dog.
I am now looking for a new home with someone who has owned dogs before a will continue my training and take me to training classes. I’m not keen on being left on my own so I’m looking for a home where there will be someone around for most of the day. I would love to be part of a busy and active family who will play games with me, include me in their daily activities and will provide me with a minimum of one hour of active off lead exercise in the park every day. I can live with children aged six years and upwards and I can live with another dog providing we’re a good match. My new guardians will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, they be taking on a fourteen year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon,
Marius
