Merlo is a 1-2 year old male Cross-Breed. Merlo has been under our care for over 10 months now (October 2022), and we really can’t understand why this stunning gentle boy is still waiting for a home. He has the most beautiful eyes that just mesmerize and seem to show you his gentle soul.

We have promised Merlo that we will never stop trying to find him that special home, no matter how long it takes. We think that whoever gets to adopt him will be truly blessed. We rescued Merlo at the end of last year, when as one of many dogs on the euthanasia list at a municipal pound in Spain, he was quickly released by our emergency rescue programme.
Our wonderful supporters helped us raise the funds to release Merlo and three other dogs also on the euthanasia list – all were immediately reserved and transported to our holding kennels where they were assessed and prepared for adoption. The three other dogs have all now been adopted into wonderful homes, but poor Merlo is still patiently waiting. He hasn’t had any serious enquiries which surprises us because he is such a wonderful dog!
Merlo has come on in leaps and bounds since he has been with us. He has become a very loving friendly boy who loves to play with other dogs. He can be a bit timid with strangers, but once his trust is won he is very loving and doesn’t stop asking for cuddles and attention! We do think that Merlo is better suited to a home with another dog for company as he does look to other dogs for support and guidance.
