This is gorgeous Rafa, a 2 year old male Cross-Breed currently in Nottinghamshire. He is approximately 2.5 years old, weighs 19kg, and is very obedient and well-mannered within the house – not food possessive and will sit and wait patiently on his bed for food, offering his paw before the dish is put down.

He won’t attempt to steal from other female dogs fed in the same space, and doesn’t react when they sniff around his empty dish. He doesn’t beg.
Rafa is not destructive – he doesn’t chew or scratch furniture. He is not anxious when being left alone (usually has another dog for company). He is housetrained, although he may scent mark in a new space — something he did for a few months after being adopted. He will also mark territory in the garden.
He is a good traveller, enjoys being in the car, and will look out of the window most of the time. He loves a donut bed and will happily hunker down in it. He doesn’t mind being bathed and loves being brushed.
Rafa enjoys human contact, being stroked and petted, and makes a “grumbly” noise. He is intelligent, learns quickly, and is good with a crate. He loves walking and adventures, though he has never experienced a town, living rurally instead.
Rafa has learned to be playful, though he can become quite physical and exuberant. He is still learning how to interact with toys. He is excellent at the vet, whether being examined or vaccinated.

Dislikes / Negatives:
Rafa has become jealous of other dogs, particularly a resident male, and is possessive over human attention. He has previously injured another male dog but shows no aggression toward females, though he will sometimes guard them from “his” humans.
He reacts to other dogs outside the home by barking or lunging.
He is nervous around loud vehicles and can lunge toward motorbikes or trailers carrying rattling items. He is very interested in wildlife and must be kept on a lead unless in a secure area. He is strong and needs continued training to improve his recall and focus on lead.
Rafa needs a strong, confident, and experienced owner, and he shouldn’t live with children or elderly people due to his strength. Full rescue backup is provided.
