Sam – 10 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Sweet little Sam is a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier in Oldies Club care, fostered in South Wales. Sam is OK to be left for about 2 hours. He adores human company and can get anxious about things so he would like to be with someone most of the time. He’s currently left alone overnight but would probably rather sleep in his new owner’s bedroom. Sam has always been an only dog and feels very strongly that that’s how life should be! He’s too much of a VIP to share his home. Cats are furry and run away. They are therefore Sam’s prey.

Sam shies away from children so over 12s might be OK but they’d have to be quiet and sensible or he would find them alarming. He loves to play with his ball and as well as his two walks a day he needs some quality play time with his human. He likes toys he can destroy in a spare moment too. After a jolly day his absolute favourite thing is to snuggle up on his owners lap for hours. He’s partial to fuss at all times!

Sam gets startled by unexpected loud noises. He hates any shouting. It makes him cower with worry. So, a quiet home is essential for his nerves. As for big dogs, well, they just better watch themselves! Sam’s ideal home is an owner who is at home most of the time, like a retired person or couple would be perfect for Sam. He needs a secure garden for playing fetch. Short walks, plenty of fuss and lap cuddles please!

Sam is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, will be fully vaccinated from 18th October and wormed on 24th. He has no current health issues. He sometimes has a slight limp from an old injury. It doesn’t hold him back or require any treatment. In fact, it adds a certain venerable air to his character. He’s just been to the groomers so he’s fragrant and dapper too!
