Sonja

Sonja is a 4 year old, female cross, who came to The Mayhew on a recent rescue run. She is timid of strangers but quickly makes friends with people who approach her calmly and gently. Although she is good with children, we would prefer not to home her with young children, as she needs a calm and quiet household.

 

A new guardian who has owned dogs before, who will nurture her and work on her socialization. She is a calm and placid girl, but this may change as her confidence grows. She loves being spoken to softly, receiving tummy tickles and sitting on your lap for cuddles. She is friendly with other dogs, though she is nervous around bigger ones. She travels well in a car, and will need a minimum of one hour of off-lead exercise every day. We do not know whether she is toilet-trained or can be left alone without problems.

Sonja would benefit from training classes to boost her confidence. She would ideally suit someone at home for most of the day and who has the time will shower her with love and kisses. She enjoys her comfort so must be allowed to sit on sofas and preferably sleep on her guardian’s bed.
