Tyler – 5 year old male Pointer Cross

Tyler is a male Pointer cross aged 5 years. Previous owner said he is not okay with other dogs but he has shown no signs of this in our care. Unknown with cats. He is very experienced with children having lived with four. He was returned to our rescue after 18 months in a home, hugely overweight and neglected, the ‘story’ was the owners work hours had changed and they had no time for him. From the length and state of his claws it appears he has not been walked for some time. Poor Tyler has been on a strict diet and has lost a lot of weight since coming into our care, he is looking much better than when this photograph was taken.

Tyler is a hugely loving, gentle and affectionate boy; he loves to sit on your lap if you let him! He doesn’t really like running around so when I have him out in the paddock he just has a cuddle and massage and this makes him happy. Tyler is fully housetrained and waits by the door to let you know he needs to go. He has lots of good training already in place although he does pull on lead, we would recommend a harness when he goes to his new home. His recall is good and he knows lots of commands including ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’. He is not destructive when left alone but can be vocal if left too long, although we will not re-home him to people out at work all day. He loves his food and is very gentle when accepting a treat; this can only benefit any new owner with bonding and training. He travels well in a car.

Terrific Tyler needs some luck in his life and is waiting for you to come and see him and fall in love with him. I imagine with a new owner and family he will be very affectionate, loyal and loving. What more could you ask for in a companion? You won’t find a dog with a better temperament, he is an absolute sweetheart. Please phone the kennels direct for any further information.

Please note, we operate a policy of NOT re-homing same sex dogs together, e.g. existing dog male then we would not allow another male dog to be re-homed with you. Same for females.
